Having The Last Word is growing slowly and carefully, because the work we do asks a great deal of the people who do it. If you feel drawn to listening, recording, accompanying or honouring people at the end of life, we would love to hear from you — wherever you are starting from.
Who we're looking for
Roles across our four pillars
Podcast interviewers
People who can sit on a park bench or in a kitchen and ask gentle questions without rushing.
Voice-keepers (Pillar Two)
People who can help clients shape written and audio reflections with sensitivity, never imposing their own voice.
End-of-life doulas (Pillar Three)
People willing to be present in final weeks and months, advocating and listening without agenda. Training available.
Funeral celebrants (Pillar Four)
People who can lead a service with dignity, using only the client's own words or faithfully gathered memories.

I never take on someone for this work lightly, and I never expect anyone to be perfect at it from day one. What I look for is a steady, listening presence, and a willingness to be honest — with clients, and with me, about how you're finding it. If that sounds like you, please write to us. I read every message myself. — Richard
